About Rachel

Rachel knew she wanted to be on stage from the age of two when she saw her first stage production of “Annie” at the Chicago Theatre. She took ballet as a young girl and when her family moved from Chicago to Calgary, Canada she started studying singing and dancing at The Young Canadians School of Performing Arts. This is a program that was founded by her grandfather Randolph Avery (a former Vaudeville performer, director and producer) and is currently run by her father William Avery who produces the Evening Grandstand Show for the Calgary Stampede while running the School. In her family’s tradition, Rachel learned the art form of presentational theatre here. She performed annually in the evening Grandstand Show – a Vegas style review – that holds an audience of 25,000 people a night.

Later Rachel was accepted in to UCLA’s prestigious School of Theatre, Film and Television where she studied acting. Her studies covered a broad base of theatrical styles and she continued her training in voice and movement as well as The Alexander Technique.

She is now a Resident Artist at a professional theatre company in Venice – Pacific Resident Theatre –
and does work in Film and TV on a regular basis.
